Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Successfully Opened to Traffic, JHC Lane Controller Helps Toll Collection Run Smoothly
In early summer in June, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has broken through the clouds and the sea, surging through the waves. “The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is a demonstration project for China to promote the ‘Safe Centennial Quality Project’, a landmark project representing China’s national image, and a major benchmark project to support China’s goal of becoming a ‘transportation powerhouse’.” It was officially opened to traffic on June 30, successfully realizing a half-hour drive from Shenzhen to Zhongshan.

The project integrates "bridge-island-tunnel-underwater interchange" with a total length of about 24 kilometers. It is one of the most difficult cross-sea cluster projects in the world to build. It has successfully transformed the advanced concepts of bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater interchanges from theory to practice, opening a new chapter for global transportation development.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is an important part of China’s national highway network G2518 across the Pearl River Estuary. It is about 30 kilometers north of the Humen Bridge and 31 kilometers south of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It starts at the Shenzhen Airport interchange and connects with the second phase of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Yanjiang Expressway. Extending westward across the Pearl River Estuary, it lands at Ma’an Island in Zhongshan and connects with the Zhongkai Expressway under construction, allowing access to Shenzhen, Zhongshan, and Guangzhou through connecting lines.

Transportation in the Greater Bay Area Has Ushered in a Golden Era
Fully Supported By JHCTECH
The toll collection brought about by the successful opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is also of top priority. As cars drive westward from the Shenzhen side, the first exit on the west bank, Cuiheng East Station in Guangdong, is also opened to traffic at the same time as the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link. JHCTECH is honored to provide high-performance lane controllers for the toll station, creating an efficient toll collection environment for the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link.
In the lane system, all lanes of the toll station having ETC functions is a strong guarantee for the rapid passage of vehicles. Therefore, the stability of the lane controller is crucial. The Cuiheng East Station in Guangdong (Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link) project uses JHCTECH’s KMDA-3920-ETC as the integrated lane controller for the ETC and MTC toll collection systems. This device features fanless heat dissipation and rich IO functions, providing 10*COM, 5*USB, 2*network ports, and 32-bit relay IO. Through serial ports, DIO, and other interfaces, it performs real-time and efficient analysis of onsite sensor information from the roadside antenna (RSU), traffic lights, alarms, automatic barriers, fee displays, ground sensing coils, cameras, card readers, and more. The results are integrated and fed back to manage charging, and the lifting and lowering of the barriers are controlled to achieve vehicle passage. With ultra-high reliability and stability, it ensures the smooth and normal operation of the toll collection system, enhancing its role in highway toll management and improving traffic efficiency.

The successful support of this project once again demonstrates the strong capabilities of JHCTECH products. This marks another successful practice in supporting the construction of smart highways, following projects such as the Pingyi Expressway, Changqi Expressway, Shanzhan Expressway, and G80 Guangdong-Guangxi Expressway.
The successful opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has made the Greater Bay Area “smaller” and brought more opportunities. We expect Zhongshan’s economic growth to enter the fast lane and become another important hub in the Greater Bay Area. In this burgeoning region, JHCTECH will continue to innovate in product application technology and contribute to the smart transportation ecosystem. By focusing on the industry, researching the industry, and implementing the strategic goal of “Scenarios Empowering Product Innovation”, we will continue to provide high-quality and professional services to our users in collaboration with industry partners.
